chapter one
Four months of talking
It's been four months of getting to know you: your jovial energy, your eyes, how much more there is under the surface than most people get to see. I noticed early on this wasn't just talking stage small talk.

The cinema, and the gum
Somewhere between the movie we watched together and our own little gum tradition, this stopped feeling casual. Small things like that are the ones I keep coming back to.

The time we went quiet
There was a stretch where we stopped talking, and I noticed exactly how much: losing sleep, reaching for my phone looking for something from you. That's when it stopped being a maybe for me.
